So, I heard Jon Stewart sucked. I heard the whole thing was bland and boring and all the wrong movies won. Is this true? I couldn't be bothered to watch it myself, only tuning in for Charleeze Theron's extra-dress-on-her-shoulder and lots of plush penguins. Honestly, that and Dustin Hoffman's stoned performance are all I saw. That and Mr. Stewart looking like he was thinking "Is it over yet?" with his Desperate Housewives crack.

A sports commentator made the suggestion, and I like it, that instead of traditional oscars we change the selection process to a playoff format. I like the idea. They can be seeded by nominating vote strength. You can do an award show every few days that only takes an hour and drag it out for 3 or 4 weeks! And it'd still be more interesting!

It's too bad you can't have an LJ Community with the same name as a User, or we could make the emilytheslayer community where she could have these conversations in peace without us mocking her.

I'm sure she could figure something out. Slightly alter the name or something. Maybe just make a comminity called Emilytheslayer_committee. Unimaginative, but gets the job done.
