Emotion

Last night I started feeling sad for a moment. Then I realized I wasn't sad, I was lonely. I've evidently been conflating sad and lonely quite often, leading me to believe I'm more depressed than I am when actually I'm just missing having a girlfriend. I need to be more aware of the difference between sad and lonely.
Sad and lonely...

Sad? Yes, that passes.
Lonely? More chronic than fatal, but usually under the surface.
