You can be, you know, you just have to make up your mind to DO IT. I wasn't always like I am now, you know, I made a conscious effort to be the kind of person I wanted to be. I reinvented myself in HS, and have continued to do so since. Instead of saying "I am this type of person and that is all there is", say "This is the pperson I am going to be!" It works, if you are willing to let it. I started out a shy, publically quiet, non-aggressive person, and, well, you know me now. :-) In a way it's like overcoming an addiction: you have to truly commit to changing before you will make any real progress, lip service doesn't do it. And, if necessary, seek outside help from an expert.
Yeah, well, take heart: you're not evil. You're not a jerk. You're capable, smart and a decent guy. Confidence, you can develop. Agression and Ambition are highly overrated. Don't make me invoke Godwin's Law. :)
Well, I could have said that too much ambition and agressiveness is what led to Hitler and the Nazi's rise to power. Sure it's oversimplifying, but that's the whole point of the statement.
As emmalyon said, it is more than possible to develop these things. That said, there are worse things to be than not aggressive or ambitious, like evil. It's bad to be evil.
