Oscars

So, I heard Jon Stewart sucked. I heard the whole thing was bland and boring and all the wrong movies won. Is this true? I couldn't be bothered to watch it myself, only tuning in for Charleeze Theron's extra-dress-on-her-shoulder and lots of plush penguins. Honestly, that and Dustin Hoffman's stoned performance are all I saw. That and Mr. Stewart looking like he was thinking "Is it over yet?" with his Desperate Housewives crack.

A sports commentator made the suggestion, and I like it, that instead of traditional oscars we change the selection process to a playoff format. I like the idea. They can be seeded by nominating vote strength. You can do an award show every few days that only takes an hour and drag it out for 3 or 4 weeks! And it'd still be more interesting!

I actually considered renting Elektra just to see her and her abs. That should tell you my opinion of her.

Now be honest, there have got to be guys out there where you compatmentalize "abs" or "buns" or "lickability" away from stuff like "talent" or "quality of role choices" and suchlike.

Sure, I admit it freely, the bleh was directed more at the movie than at her.

Ah, okay. See, [livejournal.com profile] head58 and I see a trailer for Ultraviolet, and in our brain the movie's title becomes "The Adventures of Milla's Abs: Crunch Harder" or somesuch.

You two share a brain? How did this happen?

[identity profile] telepresence.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a great fanboy hive mind, a great evolved megaconsciousness where we all connect telepathically and eat chips and sigh over Milla's abs.

The central psycho-nexus for the hive mind hangs out behind a Circle-K. By choice!

Ok, that makes sense. Just checking.

I'm eating chips right now! Should I commence sighing?

Definately by choice, dude.

A sad, misguided attempt at trying to recreate a Steve Martin movie.

[identity profile] lynxreign.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
But the movie looks like amusing action-cheese.

[identity profile] head58.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Fear of the pure suckitude of the movie.

[identity profile] lynxreign.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Embrace the suckitude! Invite [livejournal.com profile] telepresence, [livejournal.com profile] kevnes and I over and we can MST3K it.

Elektra + Aeon Flux double header= Qual-i-Tee.

I was going to get that Ultraviolet poster for you, I must now admit. Can't believe they were giving them away and I forgot to get one! grrr.

[identity profile] lynxreign.livejournal.com 2006-03-06 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I got the Aeon Flux cartoon box set last time I was in MA.
