No Boom

It turns out that the fire trucks were here because someone found something under their desk that they didn't put there. That's as much of a description as we got. They called security, security called the cops who called the firemen. Cops and firemen showed up, took the thing away, all is quiet. I'd love for them to blow it up somewhere and have someone go to the person in a few hours and say "The brochures you ordered came in, I put them under your desk for you."

I got a "mystery box" last week (something we knew was on order, but did not know was actually on it's way). I wonder what would happen if we had called security....

Also, how nice of them to let you all in the building with the box full of potential explosives/anthrax/pickled beets/whatever.

I love how the email said it was an "item". Not a box, bin, whatever, it was an "item". I have this image of it being a can of soda or a shoe or a giant novelty pencil or a business report.

LOL, that's an image.

A friend of ours in NM tried to send a box of green chile by mail. It started leaking in the post office and triggered a security incident.

Aw... that's sad. 'cause it was likely a waste of perfectly good chilis.

Lucky that didn't happen to us, when we ordered chiles through the mail!
You and me questioned by Homeland Security could lead to some...unpleasantness. Well, for the HS people anyway.

Told you I didn't do it.
