Monday Diet Update

I started the contest with a weight of 276.
This morning I weighed in at 272.
4 lbs is a decent start, lets see if I can keep it going.

Yay you!

Congrats! That's great! I'm sure you can keep it up and lose more. :)

So far. just one week and is within the range of a normal fluctuation. If it keeps going and I start exercising, I'll be happy.

I certainly hope so. I'm going to be posting the lbs every Monday morning. There'll be a graph to go along with it if I can get it designed the way I'd like.

Ooh, pretty colors...

Exactly!

Good job!! Just remember that the first couple of weeks will be the most drastic, then it will taper off to ~2 lbs/week max. Some weeks you may not lose anything, even though you're following your plan and exercising. Don't give up. It's totally normal. Good luck!

Yeah, the first few weeks are usually big loss weeks. The good news is I really haven't done anything yet other than reschedule my eating.

Excellent. And seriously, remember to check portion size. I will never forget my shock at seeing what a true portion size was for cereal (3/4 - 1 1/4 c depending on the cereal). And how many calories some cereals have!! (One way to cut back on that, btw, is those 1/2 the sugar Frosted Flakes - they taste the same as regular. Haven't tried the 1/2 sugar Fruit Loops). All the best, and when you reach your goal, if you want a fashion consultant (I did an internship in a costume shop - learned a ton about how clothes should fit & who looks good in what), I'll happily come up for a weekend's shopping. (That way you can just get a sense of what looks good without feeling guilty if you don't buy anything, like you might if you used a personal shopper or a store-provided consultant.) 'Cause nice clothes are a big investment, and you should definitely consider before making purchases. (I'm talking suits, nice shirts, blazer/pants sets - at least business casual; I'm pretty certain you can handle jeans and t shirts on your own - though I can help with those too, if you want a totally new look.) :D M

I was at 164.5 this morning. I was going to post on Thursdays, but will do an update today which will get me in sync with yours. :)

I've just been cutting portion size a little and then as time goes on, I'll cut a little more. The only cereal I eat is corn flakes and I don't use all that much sugar on them. The big change there was using a normal bowl.
For snacks I've been having goldfish or Blue Bunny ice cream popcicles. They're 80 calories each and a specific portion.

Sorry, I like to use the beginning of the week for my weigh-ins as that's right after my worst days for eating.

No need to apologize, I have no problem in doing it on Mondays. It gives me more incentive not to eat as much on the weekends! :)
