I can't find an easy reference, but I remember geology professors talking about a huge fault line around the Charles River or something and how if we ever have a real earthquake, most of Boston will crumble into the sea because it's half landfill and doom and all that. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

Huh. And I always thought it was because from all the foot traffic from having to run a special election every time someone asked if they could sneeze!
