Not long ago, I attended the Origins convention in Columbus Ohio. In one of my posts I promised a more detailed update of the goings-on there. Upon further reflection, I simply have little more to say about it. We spent Friday playing 3 games of Flames of War, each 3 hours long and Saturday playing 2 games of Flames of War, each three hours long. The game is great fun and is a miniatures game of WWII combat. I played the Nazis, Rich the Italians and we faced each other twice over the weekend. I had a chance to win the tournament, but was tired of the game to play the final round.
The rest of the time at the convention, including Sunday, we spent wandering the Dealer's room, buying way too much stuff, accosting the Avalon Hill Section Head of Hasbro and eating bad food.
Sunday we got to see [livejournal.com profile] neogrammarian and go to a fun diner.
We also attended a raffle for the Columbus Area Board Gaming Society where we won nothing. There's a photo somewhere of a woman wresting the game [livejournal.com profile] rtrockel really wanted from his grasp, but I haven't found it yet.

That's it. Sure, there's detail about what happened in each game and what booths we saw in the dealers room, but who wants to read that?
