The Ekpyrotic Universe

It seemed to be a success. I'm sorry those of you who couldn't be there werent. I hope I get to make you pie soon.

I managed to make all the pies, but because we had dinner at Uncle Pete's on Friday it was a much closer thing than I'd expected.

Some pies turned out really well and I just need to write down my modifications to the original recipes. Others seem to need a little work. Either I need to be more careful with the temps on my fussy gas oven or I need to change the ingredients a bit.

The banana creme, lemon merangue and pecan seem to be right.

The apple and key lime need work. I haven't tried the pumpkin yet, but I have a feeling it too needs work. I'm going to go buy some cool whip for the pumpkin 'cause I'm done whipping cream for a while.

So I made the insane orange pie that allegedly posted about and it turned out pretty good. It is VERY sweet and heavy, but quite good. 1/2 a normal slice of pie is a good portion. I had to make cirtus cookies to make the crust for the pie and they are also good on their own and we had plently left over. I'll post more about it later, I'm just excited it was enjoyed.

I also made a chocolate oatmeal treat that mom used to make when I was a kid. This was also enjoyed. I'll post more about that too. I've been making many desserts...

I've worked for well over 60 companies. I've been a consultant for over 15 years. I've worked for companies in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Massachusetts, and Washington.

It wasn't until moving back to MA that I've worked for companies that have "pie days". This is the second company in a year that has given free pie to the employees for no apparent reason.
