emilytheslayer and I watched the Emperor's New Groove last night. It was fun. I was distracted throughout the movie with how much the art was like a Dr. Seuss movie and kept noticing that many of the sight gags seemed more Warner Bros to me than Disney. John Goodman's voice had a real Phil Harris quality to it that I enjoyed quite a bit. For some reason I expected it to be a musical, and it wasn't, which I rather enjoyed. The movie was utterly not what I was expecting and that is a fine thing. Oh, and I also enjoyed the bit part that the voice of Piglet had. He was also Mr. Peterson in the Bob Newhart Show and the host of the posessing entity of Jack the Ripper in Star Trek.
After watching the movie, we watched the 4th episode of Star Trek: TOS. I'm slowly watching them all with
emilytheslayer in order and we watched the swashbuckling Sulu episode. One of my dreams last night ended up being an epic quest with swashbuckling, so I think my brain enjoyed the two things we watched and wanted more.
