1 Year Later

I just finished Detective, JSA, Outsiders and Aquaman. So far the 1 year later event seems like an opportunity for DC writers to be cryptic and coy and not much more. A very unsatisfying week as far as these titles go. Aquaman seems set to go even further down the road of "What are you thinking!? This is crap!" Lots of mentions of "what a horrible year" and "my but this past year was a bit of trouble, wot?". I'm hoping that someone says "We shall never speak of it", but no-one has yet.
Update: Apparently Marvel is restarting the New Universe line as recreated by Warren Ellis. The Star Brand issue was actually quite good. The art was fairly Ditko and the story telling had a Hernandez Bros feeling to it.
One more thing: Marvel's Nextwave is surprisingly funny. Ellis again, but who knew?

So with Aquaman (and this isn't spoiling me because I'd NEVER read it) - is the new guy just some schmuck who HAPPENS to be named Arthur Curry?
And did you get Infinite Crisis #5?

Date: 2006-03-03 01:22 pm (UTC)I'm so far out of the loop on this stuff, it's ridiculous. Grew up a Marvel fan, learned to love DC throughout the 80s, eventually becoming mostly DC by the 90s...and then abandoning comics in general in 2000s. This constant rebooting type stuff is certainly part of it. DC is generally better at this sort of thing than Marvel...but they both have pretty terrible track records.
I mean, it says something that I'm more interested in the JLU and the DCAU than I am in the DCU itself. Oh, what about the NKVDemon? Heh.
