Or watch it the same night, but skip the commercials and really bad music numbers, like I did. :)
Stewart did well, in my opinion. The audience, however, didn't warm to him until later in the show. He had some great one-liners and was clearly trying to behave. Part of the issue is that Stewart works best reacting off of an audience, and the nominees were being very sedate. There were no really awkward moments though, short of the Lauren Bacall thing. Ben Stiller's moment was pretty funny, I thought. George Clooney's acceptance speech was a good one. Some of the show felt very rote, though, and they were very inconsistent, IMHO, in speech length modulation. Nick Park's acceptance speech with the bowties was funny, too.
I thought the french filmmakers accepting for "March of the Penguins" were hard to understand...until the rap group accepting for best song got on stage. Yikes.
