Today I went to the Midas to get my car fixed. What I’d intended to get done:
Change light bulb in left headlight
Replace Power Steering Belt as they’d told me it couldn’t be tightened further
Check Brakes
Fix loose exhaust
Fix clutch
Change Oil & Trans fluid
I figured I’d be happy if it all came to less than $1000
What happened:
Fortunately, I realized I could change the light bulb myself, so that was one thing down.
They tightened the belts, evidently either the previous person was wrong or it was a different belt.
The Brakes have 8-10 thousand miles left on them
The muffler was mildly crushed and a support was bent, so they unbent that and said the muffler was still functional though it wasn’t pretty.
I couldn’t get the clutch to make the grindy noise, so they said they’d put in synthetic fluid and see if that helped.
They did change the fluids.
This all took around 4 hours and the total cost was only $145. I’m quite pleased.
