Ah, Friday!

Here I am at my last day on this job. The economy isn't great, but I have some leads on new jobs. I'm hoping my time between jobs isn't more than a month. We'll see. I'll probably apply for unemployment on Tuesday, or at least find out how long I have to be out of work before I can apply.

Seven more hours here and I'll be able to put this whole unpleasant experience behind me. I'm looking forward to having a little time off. I'm going to use the time to work on some programming: teaching myself new languages, working on my own projects, doing some for other people and boning up on OOP. I'm also going to continue going through my crap. I've another box or two of things I think I can get rid of and some shelving I can either give away or sell. I've already put my pinball machine on Craig's List and that's where the dvd/cd shelves would go too.

Unless someone reading this wants them? Anyone want dvd/cd shelves from Ikea?

When I have a house, I'll probably be setting up my other pinball machine, the one I have no intention of getting rid of. You're welcome to come play that one!

Also, I think your plan to check out unemployment sooner rather than later is great. I'm sure it's a big bureaucracy and there's some amount of waiting time involved, so you may wind up avoiding any worry by removing the potential of not having it if you wind up needing it!

Yep, I've done it once or twice in NJ and it wasn't a big pain and it helped a lot. I pay into it when I'm working, so why not use it when I'm not working?

I have to go home to get my car but I'd be willing to bet that we'll be dismissed early.

I'm probably up for the first show but not the late one, sadly. Just a little too wiped out from this week.

Just got word we're closing at 2, so I'm certain it won't be a problem now. I'll either leave on the 2:30 or the 4PM train and be at your place by 6ish, possibly with a stop at the game store in Waltham involved to see if they have the Descent expansion.

And then after that show, there's another good show at another club! head58 says he probably won't make it to that one, but you know how unpredictable he is.
