I want to create a new website like Twitter, but really boil it down to its essence. It will allow micro-micro-posts. Maximum length (and minimum) of 1 letter. Who wouldn't tune in all day long to see if you say "Y" or "C"? Saves time for the poster and the reader and allows for all kinds of interpretation without having the banality of most Twitter posts.

My own silliness aside I agree with your silliness. Now if there were a way to get rid of all the "Which X of Y are you?" tests...

Or maybe combine them all together where f() is a blackbox function and f(x) reports back that you are Captain Picard, Peter Davidson, Mint Chocolate Chip, a ninja, and Hufflepuff. Something like that.

I'd use it to blog as normal, one letter at a time.

Thus beating Twitter in the other reason it is so popular: you can annoy people more easily!

Already tired of seeing Facebook status updates?

I only look at it when I go home and it is linked to the email address I don't use as much, so no. I just find Twitter to be silly.

Well, you won't be getting those updates in email anyway. I thought maybe you were looking at it and getting annoyed with the Twitter aspect of it.

And Twitter *is* silly, but it has it's uses.

Nah, it just looks like a lot to slog through. I'll try tonight.

Twitter does have uses, like I said. One is to annoy people!

It is, I warned you about that. :)

Yes, and some of it's uses are actually useful for the people reading them, too!

I'll take your word for that.

I'm not saying it will have any use for you, but I'm getting tired of people discounting something because it doesn't make sense to them.

I'm just being snarky about it.

I totally agree. Facebook has been a cool clearinghouse for finding old friends and getting their email addresses, but other than that it is fairly useless. At least LJ (sometimes) has some actual content.

I'm looking forward to playing Scrabble and maybe poker if I can find a decent app.

I've been liking Facebook more that I thought I would. It's chat feature is nice and easy to use, and I can use it at work without downloading anything. I only do that when I'm waiting for you after hours, mind you, but I do like FB overall.

I think its funny that New York magazine's cover is on facebook like 2 days after I join this "phenomenon"

http://nymag.com/nymag/toc/20090413/

I find facebook suits my short-attention span. No need to resort to neo-Hegelian prose to describe things...just a lot of "I like this...do you like this?" discussion. Plus the main reason I joined was allegedly to plan gaming activities with the calendar feature...but now I'm totally sucked in...

You and your neo-Hegelian prose.

It's not just Hegelian...its neo...the neo makes it sound cool and important!

Mine goes up to 11...
