Another lovely link

Karl Marx in the Land of the Yellow Submarine My Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] qahawthorne for that one.

Another Saturday of running about doing noting. I've mailed [livejournal.com profile] garrity her package, lets hope it is satisfactory. [livejournal.com profile] emmalyon now has her TV (sans co-axial cable, time for a trip to Radio Shack) and it all started with another trip to the dump to drop off recycling. I truly enjoy doing that for some reason.

Last night was spent at my brothers playing an entire preseason for 2 teams in Madden 2004 on the X-Box. That's 8 games, trading, free agents and training camp. I got home at around 3:00 AM. Fun, but tiring.

Today, I'll grill dinner in the dark, put together some more shelving in the basement, move the last of my stuff from emmalyon's room and download music from EMusic.com. I'll let everyone know how my experience with the site goes. I know that [livejournal.com profile] blueokaku has used it in the past and had nothing bad to say, but that's it so far. My mother was intending to use it, but says the files are far too large for dial-up connections.

Despite my dialup, I used emusic.com & was quite pleased [my hp came w/free music, so dammit, I was gonna get it!] Plus, they [at the time, anyway] had a deal w/Metropolis, which is a label that has signed a number of bands I pay attn to.

I'm trying to download now and it has said "requesting file" for 2 hours. What bands?

Mmm- that error-report doesn't sound promising, does it?

Metropolis is [what I would call] a technogoth/ebm label- dance music for those in black, really. Bands like Funker Vogt, Velvet Acid Christ, Wolfsheim, Project Pitchfork, Informatik- I think even the venerable KMFDM & My Life w/the Thrill Kill Kult may be on them now, but I'm not sure about the last 2 [or any, really- these things change fast]. If I remember correctly, emusic also had a bunch of Frontline Assembly & Delerium as well.

Best of luck getting a download. I must now bounce offline & prep for a night of drag kings & dancing.
